Transmission issue?

Hey guys... need some insight.

First off, I have a Automatic 2003 P5... a couple months ago I was driving down the road at a steady speed when all of a sudden my car "jerked" out of nowhere... it felt like a quick downshift/upshift of the transmission. It wasn't too rough though, but still very noticeable. Then the other day I was driving along at about 60 or 70 km/h (about 40-45mph) when it happened again... but this time it was much more violent and harsh. You could really feel the car jerk... my fiance actually thought I had hit the brakes to scare her or something, so that gives you an idea of how bad it was.

This has only happen these two times, and I cannot duplicate the problem and have no idea what caused it. Do you think it's something mechanical with the tranny itself, or something electrical causing the car to do some type of quick shifting? I plan on taking it in the Mazda to have them scan the codes and take a look at it, but thought I'd post here for some insight first. Has this happened to anyone else? is it a known problem with the Automatics/Tiptronics?

Any comments would be great. Thanks.

once and a while something will come along, its normal to happen on rare ocations but if it starts happening more frequent then think about taking it to the dealership only, do not go to a tranny shop, take it to mazda esspecially if you can take them for a drive and recreate the miss shift.

My car did that on rare occations, i am on a second brand new transmission and had it happen once. So it could be a odd torque conv. related matter.

My car is a 2001 Pro Auto ES. so basically the same tranny minus the tiptronics but its the same.
