It is very dependent upon the driving conditions...the car is drag limited.

my Protege ES (with GT package in Canada) hit 203 km/h. It seemed like that was my car's top speed.

well my 1.8L (and i'm saying only de 1.8L's) have a speed governor set at 190km/h
cuz thas when it kicked in for me, well my speedo read more like 193km/h

but i'm sure it coulda easily hit over 200km/h, but i think thats where it won't be able to push any further cuz of drag

i'm sure the 2.0L's don't have a speed governor in them

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought none of them had speed governer's. I don't think it mattered by engine, although i may be wrong.

'only' 105? I've have my protege up there, and it had room to go... maybe to about 110 or 115... and it's a 103hp automatic

Protege5 2.0 is drag limited.... boosted good enough will to top out 140mph and you will hit what I think...a fuel cut.

Fastest on my 1.8 was 115 and that is when I was cut off in which it sucked because I know the car could keep going. On a 2001 2.0 I got it to 120 and I had to slow down because I was approaching traffic.

yeah there, i know it has a governor, or some type of speed limiter, cuz as soon as i hit 190kmph. which is about 118mph (probably 115mph, just speedo is reading a little off) the engine cuts off......

but the only people that complain about this problem is us 1.8ers, so i don't think the 1.6L, or the 2.0L has one
actually i'm pretty sure the 2.0L doesn't have one
i'm not sure about the 1.6L tho

maybe they had the limiter chip in the ecu for us 1.8L's btu took it out for u 2.0L's

you guys want proof, one night someone near my area come up with me for a ride, even with a video camera if u want, and i'll hit the speed governor, my new engine is broken in enough now, got about 6000kms on it

my friend has an old accord, i completely killed him, like no contest at all, but he kept pushing so did i, i hit the 190kmph speed governor, but his accord doesn't have one, so i kept it steady at 185kph, and once he actually hit those speeds he slowly started to catch up, he said he hit 210kph
I'm like i can't go past 190
lol, but yeah, the 1.8 has a governor, i'm sure of it.... or i 'll say, the 1.8L LX touring edition has one
