First of all, damaster, you need to calm down yourself. Screaming at me isn't the way to tell me to relax. Yeah I was pissed off when I wrote my last statement.

And you want me to feel your shifters? Well since I have the B&M and Kartboy bushings, it isn't necessary because I experience it myself. It IS normal, it's called physics. You can't do much about that, sorry guys. It's not like this weird feeling that happens once every so often makes the car impossible to drive or even harder. No more complaining

If the shifter is not working the same as the stock shifter, I think there is definitely a problem.

However, it sounds like only one phone call has been made to B&M. All of you should call them, and report back here. If they realize that these reports are making it onto boards being seen by lots of people (just look at the # of views), then people are going to stop buying their product. I know that I am seriously questioning it.

I was angry because your comment was very unhelpful and very unconstructive! I really still don't think its normal and perhaps you are not experiencing the same behavior with your shifter as we are. If you're not, then there's no need for you to check back on this thread. If you are experiencing the same thing, which is unlikely because if you were you wouldn't say its 'normal', then please let us know if you've found a solution or progressed towards any resolution.

good point glyph: I think we should all call B&M and let them know about this problem. Is it possible that a certain batch of shifters they produced were defective or perhaps they recently changed something in the design that has unexpected adverse effects?

I totally agree with this. Even though I would be surprised if they took any sort of action, we should at least try this. So PLEASE everyone who is experiencing this problem, phone them at the number above and express your unhappiness. The more people they hear from, the more likely they are to offer a solution.

I'm not a moron, I understand that we have sacrificed some leverage to acheive a shorter shift, and I understand that it takes more effort and makes for a notchier feel - But I am telling you there IS a problem here. I don't understand how you can make this judgement without actually FEELING the problem that we are experiencing. Is like if I were to tell you that your air conditioning doesn't cool your car down enough - how would I know unless i sat in your car and FELT it? And by the way, we are not "complaining" we are trying to determine the best course of action to get our PROBLEM solved. You don't seem to be experiencing this problem, so there isn't really much fo you to contribute.

You replaced a piece of metal with one almost exactly the same. I mean how much can actually go wrong? Maybe I don't have your problem, or maybe it isn't as extreme, there are tons of variables. But I'm asking, are you guys all automotive experts? Maybe it is a side effect you hadn't planned on or heard about and it is normal, that's all I was saying. Don't get so worked up man.

When it gets hot, it becomes stiff and extremely difficult to shift. It becomes so stiff that when pushed to the right or the left in neutral it remains in that position. You really think this is NORMAL behavior for a ~$250 "piece of metal"?!?! You don't need to be an "automotive expert" to figure that out!

If you're just trying to increase your post count with ridiculously useless posts, please do it on another thread thread because we're trying to find a solution to our problem on this thread, which you are obviously not helping with at all. And like defchino said, we're not "complaining", we're trying to resolve this issue, and that's why we all turned to this forum!

Seriously man, theres no point to you being here and posting useless crap like this - its not productive. Do you really thing B&M would design a shifter that makes griding and squeaking noises when your car reaches operating temperature?

I'm not calling myself an automotive expert - thats why I'm here, there is a lot of experience on this board. I think everyone has come for advice on what to do about this problem - not to be called a *****.

I'm telling you, I'm not a moron - I understand mechanical advantage, I understand transmissions get warm and things expand and you are more likely to feel this change with a short shifter - but I really believe that what I am experiencing is not within the normal design parameters of this product. Either way, other members of this board should hear about this and take it into consideration when they are buying a SS kit.

I tried loosening my bolt as well, but it didn't solve the problem. Let us know what happens with yours.
