Short RAM air intake for the 1.6l???

Does anyone have something like that? I know of negatize's hacked Injen intake, but I don't feel like paying 200+$ for something that I'm going to have to modify anyway. Would the 2.0l AEM intake work? if not, I'm thinking about getting it done custom, there was a site that showed how to do it (the guy used some plastic pipes, it looked ghetto) but I lost the link, does anyone have it? I'd do it using mandrel bent pipes of course, none of that plastic crap.

Thanx-

No, in fact the only intake made for the 1.6s is the Injen. The other intakes will not fit because the intake manifold is totally different.

if you want to have your own custom made CAI you can go to a muffler shop and have them take pre-mandrel bent piping and weld it together for you. They'd prolly even be able to cut and fabricate the area needed to mount the MAF sensor. It prolly wouldnt cost more than a hundred bucks.

Check this site out, www.protege00.com

Go look at the modifications for the intake, I did this about 8 months ago and no check engine light or any problems.

Thanks for the replies (and the pics) that's exactly what I needed.

-00dogg, so the AEM fits perfectly to the intake manifold and all I have to do is make something to fit the sensor? yours looks awesome man, I love it. How much did it cost you? (the AEM) it's the one for the 2.0l right?
