Thumbs up Ractive Superflow Intake INSTALLED

I finally finished installing the intake. Now the box states that it is meant for the 2002 Protege. I installed it on my '99. I had to do a FEW modifications to the actual piping in order to give it a fit that wasn't TOO tight, otherwise the filter was touching the casing of the headlights.

The bracket that holds the air sensor, was not exactly designed well. I cut the top off and bottom, and got it welded again. Its a MUCH better now, and holds the entire intake stable. I took some video with my camcorder, and I'll post some pictures later tonight.

I took the car for a quick spin (I'll really test it tonight). Right of the bat, I can tell how much LOUDER it is. Putting the gas down over 3000rpm, and its a VERY NICE GROWL. I didn't think there would be that big of a difference, but there definetly is.

I'll update later on...

Did you have any trouble fitting the intake into your engine? I took a look at your pictures when I did my install (since there were no instructions). I had to cut my piping short about 1 inch.

There is a little scoop below the filter, and a few holes. I was thinking of making the scoop a little bigger, that will direct the air UP towards the intake.

Did you change the filter on yours?

Btw what does "lor" mean?

I didn't have any problems getting the air sensor connected. There were 3 rubber moldings. 2 were the same which went on the air sensor, and the 1 odd one, connected to the engine.

I live in Richmond, BC. I'm East Indian, which some people consider Asian, but that depending on which continent you live on. Or in otherwords, no I'm not Chinese.

what "lor" mean

Hi, I'm Chinese and I think I can answer your question. "Lor" is basically something you add to an end of a statement to make it sound like you don't want to be bothered or to attach to a answer to someone's question which he/she has asked for many times. It has the effect of like how English speakers say "Again, this is blah blah blah."or do not "blah blah blah , again." Sometimes it is used to reaffirm something you just said like in the way you say " I'm sure, blah blah blah."
"Lor" is only used in Cantonese a provincial dialect of Canton, where Hong Kong is located, therefore most likely on Hong Kong people like me use it.
It really has no significant usage, its just a habit of saying things.
And sorry for the bad explanation, it's really hard to put it words, but I hope it helps.
