question to Traveler about cams

i did a search and found your thread about cams. The thread has 99 responses, so it took a long time to read everything and I still not sure about something. How many whp did both cams give you? I already have an intake and MS exhaust so i am trying to see how much HP the cams will give me.
Also, I have an auto. I suppose that will be OK, right?

I went from right at 100 HP to 107 with both cams. When we uncorked the exhaust and the intake, that jumped to slightly over 111. I'd say that they realistically give you about 8 WHP.

There is hope for the 1.6L, there is always hope . But I haven't come across any aftermarket cam upgrades for it (although that does not mean they aren't out there). You can't take the big boys stuff and stick it in the 1.6L (by big boys I mean 2.0L and 1.8L which are very similar engines).

Just another thought reading your signature. If you are planning on going turbo you don't want to raise your compression. You want to lower it. You need to be careful about tuning your engine for normal induction, it can harm your forced induction gains later.
