PowerChips...

Has any one heard of these guys before?

http://www.powerchip.com.au/

They have a chip available to replace the factory chip for a Mazda SP20 2.0 liter. Is this the engine we have in the 2001+ models? They claim they reprogram the chip to provide more agressive fuel and ignition settings for a gain of about 5-20 hp and 5-20 ft-lbs. sounds like it would be a good addition to the j-spec cams for even more power.

thoughts?

i didn't know that, that's why i asked. and why is it so outrageous to think that a replacement chip wouldn't be of benefit? this is not a piggy back system, it is a replacement chip that replaces the chip inside you car's ecu module.

njaremka>>>i don't think they have made on for the sp20 (98kw)..i also tried to see if they had made one for the 1.6l(78kw)and 1.8l(92kw)..but it says they have not yet looked at the car..and that it may not be possible depending on the ecu

It's only like $200, compared to that one from the Aussie company @ $486 or something.
