That whole thread is in French. I think I understood some of it but I'm not entirely sure.

The guy had that common noisy valve problem or something, and his engine simply failed at 44,000 Km.

Is that what happened?

yeah it all happenned to me...

i was on the cruise control @ 110kmh at the time and i started to hear the little rattle commond to 2.0L when cold... i continued about 500 meters later the noise became louder so i clutched and listened if the noice would still be there ( it werent ) when i released the clutch it made a grinding noice and the rattle became a LOT louder i made about 500 meter when sudently there was a boom i felt my car shaked all over so i clutched again my car stalled when i released the clutch i was slowing down ( clutch disk rubbing againts the flywheel )

i was at about 1 km from my house...

and that is about it...

for why it happened i dont know

i shift @ 6000rpm
i make oil change @ every 5000km with 20W50
i had a N&K filter

i think your problem is using 20w50 oil! that is way too thick for modern engines to be running. clearances are too tight to be running with that thick of oil.

5W30 is fine. We use it here in Canada because it has much better flow at lower temps than 10W30. Also, where I live, we don't reach the high temp that 10W30 is good for. 5W30 is perfect for where I love.

20W50 is entirely different. Why would you be using 20W30, especially in Canada????

BTW, the manual states that either 5W30 or 10W30 should be used.
