Typically for stock configurations:
15% - 20% with manual transmissions
22% - 27% with automatic transmissions

Configurations can vary dramatically, so I wouldn't be surprised to see numbers outside that range.

As for the question posted earlier regarding a correlation between HP and ET, the thumbrule is a 10hp = 0.10 seconds. Just to throw weight into the equation, 100lbs = 0.10 seconds. These are just a thumbrules, many other factors need to be considered for more accurate predictions.

one of the car mag reviews of the P5 (sorry, don't recall which) put the P5 0-60mph in the low 10's (10.2 I think it said).... it's all from memory until I get a chance to see if I still have the mag. around...

The Car and Driver mini review puts the P5 at a 1/4mile of 17.2sec @ 81mph. Reading it fully it seems to indicate that it had a 9.5sec 0-60 + 0.5sec for a total 0-60 of 10.1 seconds.

THIS IS COMMON PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE!

Not really. Did you read last SCC? Type r looses only 20 hp out of 190-that's 10%. There're few another examples about "claimed"flywheel horsepower and "wheel"horsepower. I think that Mazda is messing with us, like it did with Miata.

I asked a friend of mine who builds drag cars, and he said drivetrain loss is usualy in the 15-20% range. Automatics a little higher. I'd like to see a dyno of a P5 with a few miles on it to get a better figure.

Using a 1/4 mile hp calculator (hp=weight/ (ET/ 5.825)3 and Car & Drivers figures (17.2 1/4mile) you come up with 105.5 hp @ the wheels, about 137 at the flywheel. Seems about right.
