P5 and 323F

Hi all..... i read somewhere frome the lower that P5 dynoed had 104 hp-s ... does it have a 2.0 l engine?

My european 323F has 1.8 engine and 115 hp-s and my 400m time with reaction ( dont know the time but it was really good ) is 17.06.

And one question is that what kind of cains in ET you will have from 1 hp ( or 10 ) , is there somekind of a connection that 10 hp is like 0.3 seconds or something?

Thanks in advance and sry for my not so good english :)

not bad

17.06 is pretty good, actually. I'm not sure if you have any mods but, a stock 1.8L '00 with a skilled driver (i.e. magazine test driver) will run 16.8/16.9.

Yes, the P5 has a 2.0.

Yes, the P5 has a 2.0.

That stock 1.8 has how much power? i know these hp-s are different in protege and in 323
Is that 16.8 just an 400m time without reaction? ... then my time would me probably the same ... my mods are a KN drop in filter and a selfmade muffler :D ... dont think these give very much power but they'll give a nice sound to my car

And i think that i am not a bad driver (i know my car pretty much ... had raced about 6 or 7 acceleration races and then about 15 track races and then a few snow tracks and streetracing( on a parking place ) also ;) ) ... i had streettyres under my car also.

But if P5 is 2.0 ... how many hp-s it have???

And also one question that why 2.0 P5 has only 100 hp-s?
Do you have different hp-s there :)
Here a new 323F sport has 2.0 engine and 130 hp-s...
what is a stock p5 acceleration 0-60 mph?

i think you are confusing the hp numbers. the 104hp listed was a dyno run and that measures the power at the wheels, which loosly translates to about 125-130hp at the crank.

the dyno numbers are much more accurate, as they measure at the last point of contact with the road, the wheels, so there's no dispute :D Crank hp numbers will be higher, since it has not passed through the transmission or drive train yet.

what is the time on the P5's 0-60???

No way there is a transmission lost of 25-30 hp-s!!!!!

Maeby 10-15 but not that much ....

What are the P5-s 0-60 and 1/4 times?

From what I've read on messageboards....

a P5 2.0L will run high 16s like 16.9/16.8. I guess the 0-60 would be in the neighborhood of 8.3 seconds but, this is just a guess. I don't have a P5 so, I can't test it myself. I suggest you go to the P5 section and ask them.

If it runs high 16 or low 17 then its 0-60 mph is something like over 9 middle .... cause my 0-60 is 9.7 and i run 17.00

but like to be sure ... and doesnt P5 guys read this that i have to go there?

WeeBieP5 October-16th-2001 04:57 PM

yah i think the p5 0-60 is somewhere around 9.4 secs or something like that

Makaveli October-16th-2001 06:02 PM

P5's 0-60 miles/hr is about 10 seconds....... why? because it's got the same engine as my protege LX 2.0 and is a bit heavier...... or even if it isn't, it's about 10 secs

obender66 October-16th-2001 09:00 PM

crank vs wheel hp on P5

I am surprised myself at low wheel hp figure. 120 hp Probes have same numbers, but I should have 10 crank hp more....
Probably second cat chokes it. Somebody posted on one of the forums about running rich at high rpm and gaining 7 hp by leaning out. I will definetely try APEXi AFC and adjustable fuel pressure regulator to try to tweak fuel curve while running on dyno-7 hp for about $500 is a deal if it's not a BS.
What Mazda was thinking about that when designing ECU?I also read that at high rpm timing is getting advanced to ridiculous values, could it be safeguard against detonation?
I hope somebody will come up with ECU to address those things-130 hp out of 2 liter in 2001 is NOTHING!
I don't know about performance data, but it seems slow. Faster than my mother's 105 hp 1999 Civic though :), and it's rated at 9.5 seconds.

Come on guys you know you loose 20 to 30% through drive train!!!!
