is it normal for the revs to drop suddenly?

since the AC was on at the time, it was probably just the AC compressor. this also happens at a light when the fan comes on to cool the engine, the rpm's will drop a little then jump back up.

This has happened to me, but only when the car is still warming up. It happens at the first light on the way to work, about 1 mile from the house. I only have 7200 miles so it should still be clean in my car.
