New Intake Installed

will Definitely have to get som pics up asap!! I bought one of those cheap E-Bay intakes for a P5 off ebay...got a vacuum plug for the IAT opening and it works perfectly!!! looks really good in the engine bay and this Intake actually came with a pre-oiled true K & N filter and a chrome heat shield, plus all installation hardware...it cost all of $53 in cluding shipping....awesome deal and it looks good in my engine bay

Congrats dude, please post some pics. It came with an original K&N filter??? if that's true, it's a steal at $53.
I want to get one of those myself, would this one work?

If you have the link to the one you got please post it.

Thanks-

I ordered blitz style intake from ebay too.
I'm getting mine this week, unless you really want to spend good money on intake, get Injen. they look nice and sounds nice.

I know all about the CAI intake, but I'm not willing to spend $200+ for 4hp, plus there's the risk of hydrolock.

I like the look of the Injen but I also like the look of a short intake, as a matter of fact, I like it even more. With the injen all you see is a shiny pipe, with the short intake you get the shiny pipe but you also get to see the cone filter.
I know some people like the look of the injen better and that's fine by me, but I'd rather spend about $45 for the ebay intake and maybe get an original K&N filter down the road.

just my $ .02

I assume that you can find it at any auto shop, here at K&N's site you can locate a dealer in you area.

Yes, but that's why you get a bypass valve fitted with a CAI. 'Sides, getting cool air to the engine is more beneficial in terms of performance rather than sucking up warm engine air (CAI vs. short ram).

Although, there have been arguements to the contrary...(and for the life of me I can't remember where and what they centred on).

dr_"$200 for 4hp? Sounds good to me! "_sarcasm.

The CAI vs Short RAM issue has been discussed to death in this boards without getting anywhere. From what I've heard, the bypass valve takes away the performance gains from the CAI.

Here's what I have learned on this and other P5 forums:
A C.A.I. sucks in colder(denser) air but can also suck up water. The AEM bypass valve keeps water out, but takes away any hp gains for a C.A.I.
A short ram (AEM) intake sucks hotter air because of it's proximity to the engine, BUT, the air has a shorter distance to travel to get into the engine. so it's less turbulent.
The Injen is not as loud as the AEM.
Corrections?
