Mazdaspeed Cams

Several questions regarding this topic:

1) Mazdaspeed only provides exhaust cams which will NOT void the warranty on a P5. Correct or incorrect?

2) FS-ZE intake cams will or will not void the warranty?

3) What kind of gains am I looking at?

4) What kind of pricing overall? I'm confused as to how many cams I require. My engine knowledge is still very limited and I'm trying to research this. DOHC means that there are 2 cams per cylinder? per header? So, a DOHC I4 engine has how many intake cams and how many exhaust cams (I assume they are the same #).

I've done a search and unfortunately no one (that I have found) has really gotten down to the level which I am at.

Thanks in advance!

1) according to my dealer, they won't if installed at the dealership

2) same as 1

3) I don't know

4) you need one intake and one exhaust cam
DOHC means Dual overhead cams, therefore there are 2 total.
The intake cam controls the intake of air and fuel, while the exhuast cam controls the exhaust being expelled from the engine.

I know the J-Spec 2.0 FS-ZE Intake Camshaft cost $180.00 and I believe that I found that info on Corksport. The MazdaSpeed Exhaust Camshaft cost $171.00 and I also believe that I got that from Corksport too.

Im not sure about the Hp gain, but I would also like to know that. How much would it cost to have the dealship install these parts too?

regarding the warranty ****, don't even worry about it...

They would have to prove that a problem occured becuase of your new cams, and they won't cause anything to directly fail. Not to mention that most of the guys at the dealership probably don't know what the **** a J-spec cam is, let alone if your car has one...
