K&N for the 1.6L 2001

I have had K&N drop in filters for a long time in other cars. I have found that in most cases that any hesitation is better form a stand still. HP-(no real change) The paper filters Cost `$20 canadian and the K&N drop in $54.00 Can. My 2001 Cav benefitted greatly from a drop in. Will this car also benefit, or is it already maxed out for stock intake air. When my waranty is up, I will go with a intake, but shops around here give you SOME trouble with intakes. This way, the K&N can be easily swapped back for the dealer servicing. Any comments on whether I will notice anything with the 1.6L 2001 SE protege with drop IN. Hopefully this is in the right forum! I had 2 choices. I chose this one!
