JKL ram air intake

http://www.streetstyler.com/JKLAeroIntakes.htm

Has anyone put one of these on yet?,,,how do they compare with the CAI that pipes to your fender?

I was thinking about an INJEN set-up but i like the look of this one.

That looks very similar to the Simota.

JKL intake

I've got one and like it so far. It's not too loud, seems to have helped throttle response, and the cars pulls better above 2500-3000 rpm. Not huge gains, mind you, but enough that my butt dyno could feel a difference. Eventually I'll cut away some of the upper grill to let it breathe better. No CELs but I have had a little rubbing on the master cylinder, you just have to get it adjusted right.

I recommend it,

James T

Did you do anything to the rubber on the hood to help the airflow(i.e. remove it).

Actually no, I left the stock opening as is, eventually I'm going to add holes to the top of the upper grill, but I want a new grill to do that in case I screw it up (whistling or other strange noises) I don't think removing that rubber would give any huge gains in airflow and would make the engine compartment a little more susceptible to water, dirt, etc. Also it wouldn'y be reversible.

it appears to me that the JKL ram air intake is superiour to any of the other ram intakes for the Protege...are their any cold air intakes that people have installed that r superiour to the JKL?

Your intake isn't so unique after all

It's the same as the Simota intake I bought which was imported from Taiwan.

Smile

WOW those are great pics,

the only thing i'm wondering is were's the filter?
and is it better then the ingen intake or the same?

we really need someone whose had both or has access to switch back and foreth,,,(thewrench?know anyone with an ingen?)

ultimately i want more hp gains than looks,,, but if i can get both

like newby101,,,which is better?
