Injen Intake Installation

Injen Intake Installation
Hi,
I've just purchased an Injen intake for my 2003 P5. I was wondering if anyone who has this intake in their car encountered any problems or difficulties during installation that I should be aware of. Also, for those of you who have this intake, would you also recommend purchasing the shield plate or AEM bypass valve?
Thanks for your help,
Scott.

the toughest part for me was removing that solenoid valve or whatever that is supposed to be remounted on the throttle body. i couldn't get that off the rubber connector that came stock, so i just left it and used the bracket from injen to install the thing on my throttle body. the other thing that you need to do is jack the car as high as it will go with a jack, either the one that came with the car or a floorjack. that way, when you undo the three bolts under the front bumper to get to the cubbie hole where the filter fits in. oh yeah... DO NOT REMOVE THE BUMPER!
and about the heat shield or bypass valve... it floods a lot in tucson. i have not hydrolocked my engine yet. just be smart and avoid places you know will flood or is flooded. simple rain (i got caught in a monsoon) will not cause hydrolock.

NO, there is NO need for either the splash guard OR the bypass valve...save your money.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
Welcome!!
