Infamous Engine Rattle Thread

I know its the wrong time of year to bring the rattle up again (only really bothers me in the winter) but I am taking the car in AGAIN on Wednesday to try another go at getting Mazda to fix the pain in the ***. I am told, by some people on the Mazda customer assistance line that the dealership should be able to fix it (key word there is should which probably still means can't). This will be the third time I have complained about the rattle and had it in the shop looking for a fix. Wish me luck. Hopefully they got the ECU code out and I will be reflashed and ready to go in no time.

Dammit. I was supposed to take this thing in tomorrow morning and get a rental but now I can't. I will probably get in to the dealership for a check next week (has to be serviced anyway, I don't like changing oil).

Okay. Scratch that last one. I am taking it in today. I will let all know whether it is fixed or not or if they are still preaching the same BS.

Ok. I got my car back today. They checked Mazda's ECU code and I have the latest version so as of yet there is no fixed code available. But this time they actually documented the problem existed so now I don't have to worry about my adjustment warranty running out. I talked to the service people and they said that since this problem is non-damaging and such they probably will only warranty fix it within the 12/12k adjustment period. So if you are running short on your warranty take it in now and get it documented.
