#1. Buy the OBX 4-1 header

#2. Buy, Kartboy shifter bushings, exhaust hangers, Ebay CAI, Monsterflow filter

#3. FAL slimfan (and remove the two dinky stock fans) and the Ebay CAI.

any of those wouldn't steer you wrong!

i thought the slim fan would just cool down...

First rule of thumb....Remove the excess heat from the engine bay (keep things cooler) and you'll make more power.

I like the FAL fan because one slim fan blows more cfm of air than both stock fans. It looks good, moves a lot of air, is easy to install, removes clutter from the engine bay, solves world hunger, etc....

I think that is a very valid question. I mean, wouldn't the fan kick on and off per the signal from the thermostatic switch? In other words, even if the fan is more efficient than the stock unit, won't it just kick on at the same point as the old fan, and kick off once it reaches the same temp? Unless you are also replacing that switch, I can't imagine a huge difference in coolant temperature.

I also can't imagine a huge drop in underhood temps as the result of changing to the FAL. As far as the air being pulled through the radiator, it seems to me that this would all be heated air, after passing around the hot fins. To lower the intake charge temp, it seems to me that the best approach would be to use a quality CAI, and maybe remove some of the splash guards underneath the car to direct more air to flow up from the underside.

My fan is programmed to kick on at the temp set by the ECU or whenever the A/C is switched on...however, it comes with a programmable module that can be set to the temp of your liking. One FAL slim fan does the work of the two stock fans and takes up less space.

When it comes to heat the ideal is to cool the water, the cooler the water the cooler the engin. if the engin is cooler so will the air being pulled through the radiator. I know from experiance tha Redline Water weter works wonders for keeping the temp down. I had a 442 with no fan shroud (thats probibly spelled wrong) and would over heat in traffic after just one bottle I never had that problem again. If you do the fan and the water you should get a big differance!
I guess this thing don't have spell check does it?

Haha, you spelled 'shroud' right, it was 'probably' that you spelled wrong.

But yeah, that slim fan is on my wish list as well.
