How to change manual tranny fluid?

yeah, I did the change-out on Sunday with Mobil 1 Synthetic gear oil (75w90). It shifts smoother now, especially from 1-2, as browntrout mentioned.
I too used 3 full quarts. I couldn't find a 23mm socket, so I used the old ViseGrip trick along with a pair of channel locks to loosen and tighten. Don't worry, I didn't round it!
