Help me Find my EGR valve

Pics!
I coundn't get a very good pic of where the egr goes on the intake manifold. Dam stock intake was in the way. You can pretty much get the idea of where it should be.
If you need better pics theres no problem for me to take of the stock intake tomorow.
Its wierd that after loosing the egr and a catalitic converter the normal pros only gain 2hp on the ulev's

I have no ideas.
How often / how should I clean the egr valve as long as the topic has been brought up. I hear it helps the idle. This thing is a bit truck like at idle now Ill do anything that might help.

Soak the valve in carbon cleaner, like brake kleen or somethin, and lube up the spring inside it with lithium grease or 3-in-1 before reconnecting it to the sensor. The hardest thing was getting that damn thing off. You can find a good tutorial in msprotege's how-to section. Oh and I think it should be done after 30k miles or so.

Mine started acting up around 33,000 miles ('03 ES). I couldn't get the coil off the valve, so I just cleaned it best I could with oven cleaner and lubed using PB Blaster. It worked for another 1,000 miles then started screwing up again. I didn't feel like messing with it so went and bought a new one. I'll let the old one soak in something for a few months next time I am home so I will be able to just swap them out when it happens again.
