Gutted cat threw a CEL

I seached for this but the seach wasn't working. So sorry if this is old news.
I gutted out my cat and it threw a CEL. The ECU said the second O2 wasn't getting hot enofe. My question is can i put a resistor on the 2nd O2 to kill the CEL? I was going to have a pipe made to replace my cat and down pipe then move the 2nd O2 closer to the manifold but, they wouldn't do it. Would this work?
Thanks
Tim

Similar problem with mine. I totally removed the second cat. Within a month I got a CEL as well. I had to put it back on, it did sound and feel better without it though.

I gutted out the primary catcause I'm sprayin. I wasn't sure if it would through a CEL because I know people who did it and they told me that it didn't cause a CEL. I just want get ride of it.

I didn't have 2 cats just 1 with a resinator

Yeah as Edwin said, how are you suprised? The second O2 sensor moniters the catalyst, so gutting it is like removing it...which will always throw a MIL...

I'm not in a state of shock. I just wanted to know if anyone knows how to fool the ECU to get rid of the cel.
I DID NOT ask if this surprised me. It didn't. I was hopin it didn't throw a cel but it did. Now that it did I just would like some suggestions. What i don't want is "DUH why are you suprised"
That dosen't help, it wastes space!

P.S.
Don't take it the wrong way just need help not opinions.

I apologize, I didn't mean to critiicize I was just pointing out that it was a given that the MIL would come on...What you need is an O2 signal modifier like what "Phantom Cruiser" is using. She is (or at least was) using a 4-2-1 header with no cats, and used a modifier to fool the ECU. This is the only ECU problem our proteger's have that is easily cured that I know of....I would suggest PM'ing her to get more info...
