Question Focus RS parts for Protege

-A mechanic at the dealer was telling me that if I could get mods for the turbocharged focus rs, that they would fit perfectly onto my ms protege.

Does anyone know about this? And how hard will it be to get these parts.

Thanks

Powering Ford Focus RS is a turbocharged, 2.0-litre, Duratec RS engine derived from the mainstream 130 PS Duratec 16v Focus engine.

Do you have a Ford Duratec engine in your Protege?

And people insist on taking their cars to the dealerships why? Oh yes, for the superior wisdom they posess. I've worked with many mechanics, and I have to say that I rank most dealership mechanics a notch below the local Canadian Tire Mechanic.

I just realized, my mechanic and friend worked at Canadian Tire.

Anyway, if you where just at the dealership for sceduled maintenance, or a LOF, you where probably talking to an apprentice. Or worse, a tire boy! (I was once one - and I remember telling people lots of crap that may or may not be true) Not that everyone doesn't start somewhere, but it sounds like he'll be apprenticing for a very long time.

Yes

This is what I thought. Lookin' into it, they don't even have the same engine, which is what this guy was saying.

Dealerships are on crack...they screw ya in the begining, and it keeps on goin.

P.S. THis dealer is selling 2003.5 ms proteges for 24k. Anyone willing to pay this much?

Unless you have visited every dealership don't group us all together I am a dealership mechanic and I don't think I'm that bad of a guy. Also I know that the Protege doesn't have a duratec .

So you say. Just kidding.

I'm not trying to lump all dealer mech's together. Almost all the good mechanics I know worked in a dealership at some point. It just seems to me that the one thing they all had in common was that they where all young (and inexperienced) when they did. Of course good mechanics can be found, yes; even in dealerships, and I would advise people to stay with who they trust. Even if it is a newfie dealership. Now I'm really bustin' your *****. I can take it. I'm open season now!

The only thing that urks me is when people buy into the hype that "nobody knows your (fill in make) like your (fill in make) dealer. Although I guess it's true for ford, since all the work is under warrantee, noone else sees any. Ha ha.

Anyway, you know where I'm going. No offence meant. My offences are aimed at the dealerships themselves.

Why are there so many Newfie's in Ont.- someone was to keep the place running for all the "mainlanders". No offence taken , it's just I do know alot of people seem to be screwed by dealerships but maybe its the way we are here in NL but most of the dealers here have a very good name for themselves. I see alot of cars get screwed up and then they are brought to us. Don't blindly buy the "dealer knows best " but don't buy the

Make your own decision.
