Talking finally got my INJEN!

i got it yesterday after a long week and a half wait when i was told it would be here in 3 days. any ways i love it and was wondering why the instructions say you need to drill a hole for the radiatior overflow tank? i just bent the piece that flips up towards the end and it waas done no drilling required. also i was wondering if anyone has a problen with their idle after they put their intake on? mine seems move around between the 4-500 rpm range. i hope i diddnt do something wrong anyways please let me know ill run it for awhile and if it still does it ill check it out on tuesday. loving it though

Did you disconnect the battery so the computer can reset ?

check all your connections as well, make sure there's no air getting in. vacuum leaks can cause problems with the sensors and cause idling problems. just make sure everything is tight and no air is getting in any other place than the filter.

NOPE....I didn't drill the hole either....just like I didn't REMOVE the entire front bumper like the INJEN instructions tell you to....I used the instructions off of Protege5Online.com, they were a bit better then the factory instructions.....HOWEVER....neither told you to disconnect the battery to reset your ECU....which is probably why your idle is acting funny...or it could be....

just remove your NEGITIVE terminal, hop in the car and mash the breaks a few times, this discharges a few capacitors, and then wait a few minutes....then connnect the battery back up....start the car...and allow it to idle for about 10 minutes, this allows the ECU to RELEARN your system...WITH the new intake....you should be all set.

Check for air leaks. That's usually the cause of idle surging. Also check your electrical connection to the air meter to make sure you didn't loosen it when you removed it from the factory rubber and put it in the Injen intake.

How much did you pay for it? Cause I know that store that you're talking about. Its called Speed Concept in Aloha. I live just down the road from it. They have **** tons of injens in stock, or at least they did when I walked in and got mine, didn't have to order anything, it was just chillin there.

i paid $210. i get like a credit working at the shop though so instead of getting money i get a discount the stuff i buy then the owner pitches in the rest. total on it was like $75 cash. speaking of which since it takes so long for people to get their stuff does anyone have a good source so we dont have to wait for things far such a long period of time?

Me too. Ordered cams and a silencer for my bosal from corksport in january. I had to finally cancel the silencer since it was always 1 day from being received, but never actually available (dont ask). I got my cams last week!!!
What I hate about corksport is that they LIE. They are always going to ship it tommorow, or monday. I think I phoned 6 times since january (plus 10 or so emails), and it was always going to be shipped, but never had been.
It just sucks that they seem to have all the parts we want.

Service is crap...

I ordered my cam through them and got it the next day. They have a lot of things for the protege that are available to racers also like the 'trunk kit' suspension parts.
