Extractors(headers) for Protege5 in Australia

Hi. My name is Bora and i live in Sydney/Australia. I recently bought a mazda protege5, but we call them Mazda Astina SP20 here in OZ. Back here in australia i tryed to get extractors(headers), but i was told that they cannot be made for this car. They said something about the 2 cats and heats sensors. Apparently they can't get around these and the engine overheats and dies. Do you have any extractors Over in the US. I'm just hoping that someone in the US has found a way to make the extractors work.

Thanks for your help.

do a search for 'header' or 'headers' and you should ifnd what you need to know.

the short answer is "kind-of". there are a few companies that sell full extractors, but they remove/replace the first cat-converter. you will then need to move/modify your o2 sensors to read off the second cat.

there is also a member here, traveler, that has developed his own design for 'shorty' type headers that will work with all the stock cat-converters.

a search will tell you more than i can tell you here.
