Custom Intake manifold in the works.

Just wanted to start this thread to get the leak going on my newest project. I'm making a custom NA manifold for Johnnie's DX. This will be a complete manifold that should bolt in and require only minimal wiring. I'm going to start re-assembling everything in the next few weeks and hopefully get some nice teaser pics for you guys real soon.

Any NA guys wanting to make 150whp on the stock block? I may have an answer for you.

p.s. Karen, if this works you better buy one!

I was just looking at the Jspec intakes today. A buddy blew his engine and I am debating wether to get his intake and de-vic it or try to buy one. This might be a answer. As long as it's not priced like Cork sport, damn they want an arm and a leg and a breast too!

hughes, I don't know what corksport is asking for a manifold but if I were to sell these in quantity it would cost me a lot of time.....I don't even have a price lined up yet but I would think the manifold package would easily be $400. When you see it you'll know why it's so much.

Scotty, nope, this is an NA manifold only....

p.s. I'm expecting a minimum of 25whp from this manifold alone.....if I get it I bet you'll see a buttload of them sold.

Try like 650.00 for the Jspec and then you have to wait and see. And all they are is an MP3 intake (no vics) from what I was told. I might be wrong. So anyways 400 for a good intake that gets you 25 or close to it, I'd buy it. Got half of that now!

oh yeah, I should have no problem beating $650! I think $400 is pretty good...

oh and btw...this will require a core charge and your stocker back when the new one arrives. I've got 2 here now to start on but I don't want to keep hitting junkyards looking for cores.

I've seen the prototype manifold (well....parts of it)...even I'm interested if I don't go the WOMP way....it's actually a really good idea he came up with.

I've spent the past few hours on the phone with a few EE's and eletrical wholesale suppliers here in the area...looks like I'll be fine on 85% of my project....the problem is the MAF.

Gotta find a bigger 0-5V MAF with 3wire pickup that I can source cheaply and will splice in easily. Once I find another MAF I'll have to test it n someones car to see how it handles it. Any takes or am I on my own again?!?!! hahaha.

eh, no biggee....just gotta find a nice cheap 80mm MAF (possibly from a junked crown vic) and start tinkering with it. I wonder how the ecu is going to react to the increased airflow.
