Clean the MAF sensors?

Can the MAF sensors on the intake be opened and cleaned? Do they need to be?

You can clean the MAF, but only if necessary...are you having issues that would lead you to this conclusion?
They're very sensitive so you've got to be careful. Most people use brake fluid because they have it laying around but others may suggest something better.
