i have that issue of HCI and it says you can do that on a Honda head gasket. i've never checked to see if my gasket has layers on it, if i'm wrong correct me, but most of the tips on that HCI article were for adding compression to civics, and swapping b16 and LS motors.

yes are correct

yes thats right but about 90% of the material in HCI is honda, i only have one HCI, it was that one and, its the only one i have read.
On the gasket issue, our pros; well the FS 2.0 has only 2 layers so i dont think it would be a good idea to do this on a pro. ( hondas have 3)
