Cams and more Cams

1) is there a good resource that will explain how cams work?
2) what are these numbers mean? intake : 230deg @ 0.003" lift, 8.6487mm lift in total
3) why is there a difference between NA and FI cams?
4) will a MSP cam work in a P5? I'm thinking not cause MSP is FI and P5 is NA
5) which aftermarket cams have proven themselves over time to be the best?
