Angry Broken bolt removal

How do you go about removing a bolt that has broken off in the threads. I painted my valve cover and was putting every thing back, the last bolt for the valvecover broke as i started tightning it. Its the top right corner not on the headblock. please help.

If you can't get to it with vise-grips, you can go to Sears or most hardware stores and buy an extractor set for broken bolts.

if you only broke the head off, remove the cam cover again and grab the exposed part of the bolt with some pliers....if it is broken off deeper, then a tap and die is the way to go....also fyi...cam covers dont need to be torqued down real hard....hand tight and then 3/4 turn is all you need

Yeah, remember you're working with aluminum here, especially if you're a crusty old iron head from way back... like me (4-bolt 350 chevys. Serious torque on those old brutes!)
