bosal tips wrong? skirt?

Ive been hearing from a few people that the tip supplied with the sedan version of the bosal cat-back is too short, and the exhaust noise is not passing the rear bumper. How long is the tip supplosed to be? How long is the short one?
My system is really really loud. I like the power, but hate the noise.
I am thinking of adding in a "super tip" from bosal, since it would extend the tip, but I also want the rear skirt that is being sold. Anyone know if the tip would hit the skirt???

Yeah I got the same problem with my p5. I put my on yesterday and I hate it already. I have the short tip as well, and its so goddamn loud. Another bad thing, is that honestly, I have not felt any power gain whatsoever. The only power increase I felt was when I put on my Injen cai, with the exhaust on though it drives just exactly the way it did with only the cai on it. So basically I just shelled out $370 for a loud *** irritating ride

Also to other Bosal owners should I disconenct my battery to reset my ecu for my exhaust. I know I did when I put my cai on but I didn't think the the computer would need to be reset for the exhaust, cause I am very very dissappointed with the performance so far of my catback.

Well thanks, you're right, it can't hurt anything. I'll give it a try here in a little and let ya know if there is a difference.

Thats strange you didnt notice any power gain. I found that the high end was much better when I installed it, but I installed the version that removed the second cat. Bosal does sell an insert that bolts in that makes the exhaust MUCH quieter. I use it when I go on trips. With the insert in, its only slightly louder than stock. When I first got the system I thought it was really loud, but after a few weeks, you hardly notice it if your just driving around town. If you dont get the insert though, dont plan on any long highway trips, I went for a 2 hour drive without it, with the windows up and was tone deaf when I got there...

Yeah well I ordered some of that B-quiet dampening material for the trunk. Hopefully that will help, and I'll look for that insert thingie, its probably not too hard to put in is it? I mean I was able to put my new exhaust on using two wrenches and flathead screwdriver. If not I'm bout ready to go out to the dumpster and pull my old exhaust out.

the TIP that comes with the sedan version of the bosal is about 6 inches long....the one for the P-5 is only about 2 1/2...they are both slash cut from the top down...

yep mine is loud...but not that loud....I have the P-5....and I have a built in fix right on the dash....talked about is before...its the VOLUME ****! CRANK IT UP!!!

don't know about the skirt question

I did my CAI and the exhaust at the same time...so I don't know if you resetting the ECU would help....oops....I see you already tried...

Yeah well I defintely felt an increase in power when I reset the ecu and installed the cai, but with the exhaust install the only thing that changed was my irritability level. BBWWARRRRARRRR!!!!

The insert is easy to put in and take out. Takes about 5 minutes. It comes with an allen wrench to remove the 6 screws(I think thats how many there are). So you take the tip off, slide the insert in, and then put the tip back on to hold the insert in...

Thumbs up longer is better

The tip for the sedan should be approximately 5" long for the sedan. I rec'd 2" tip and complained to bosal and they sent me the correct one. The difference in sound was amazing after putting on the longer tip. With the short tip the exhaust exited under the car bumper and the drone was killing me. With the longer tip the drone sound was cut in half...no exaggeration! I did not reset my ECU with the installation but it seemly did improve the upper RPM performance. Does some have the silencer that Bosal sells?????? How much and where did you get it?????

Ive tried for 3 months to get a silencer from corksport, but their service is just horrible. 4 months to get a cam and maybe I'll get it shipped this week (after 5 times calling them, 2 weeks apart, they always say they are shipping it tommorow).
ANyways.. I ordered it from protege5online and I am getting it shipped this week (only ordered it a week ago). I'll let you know how it turns out.
My tip is the wrong tip for my sedan, but I bought it from corksport, so not much chance of them getting me the right tip.

Did you contact bosal directly?? If so, please give me the email address so I can complain... If not, I'll just order a super tip from protege5online.

BBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

TESTER*****(**

I bought mine from Rishie and he couldn't do the exchange. I contacted Mike at bosal at this email address...MYatkowitz@bosalusa.com. He was very nice and helped a lot. Shipped me a replacement and I shipped him the wrong one back. I would menition that this is happening a lot. I did and he said it was an internal problem that they are working on.
