bosal cat-back problems?

well, to top off my shitty day... my muffler fell off this afternoon while i was driving. it would appear that the weld around the muffler inlet where the pipe goes in, broke. i'm currently driving with just a resonator and a pipe, no muffler. anyone else see a problem with their bosals? if not, i'd check it just to be sure. i'll take a picture later of the horror i witnessed today. getting out of my car, and my muffler sitting on the ground, only hanging on by the metal hanger.

this is good news all around mike...both that YOU are getting a new muffler, at no charge, and that they were so responsive....good to know that you have delt with a company that thinks so much of THEIR customers.

I had one of the first ones where they shipped p5 tips on sedans. I email them, and within 1 week, I had my new tip.

I've got the first Bosal exhaust released for a Protege, and mine is fine so far. They have provided excellent customer service so far though. Good to hear that's continuing.

well, i got my new rear section today, which i'm very pleased with. it came with all the hardware too (like i expected [gasket, and bolts]) and it will go on tomorrow, and i will ship the defective one back when they send me the call tag. Mick over at Bosal was who I delt with, and he was really cool about everything, no questions, no doubts, just 'we're shipping the new one, it'll be there tomorrow'.

It's great to hear customer service like that still exists. It's also helpful to let Bosal know we appreciate it by posting it and giving them our business. Keep up the good work!

round two... it did it again. this really blows. it hasn't fallen off yet.. but it's on its way. it's cracked about half way around the weld... this time, i got pictures of it to back it up. the area around the bottom of the pipe where it's goes into the muffler is where it's cracked, this is indicated by the black where exhaust is leaking from it. you can really tell when you look at the top shots, and it's clean and silverish. i know it's cracked, because you can move the muffler away from the pipe with a little pressure.

from those pictures.. you can see where the weld has seperated from the pipe. on the top shots, you can see how far the crack has made its way up towards the top.

Round three. HEHEHEHEHE. Last night while I was driving home from work... the weld around the pipe where it enters the resonator cracked, and the whole damned thing fell off. it was kinda funny at this point, since this is the third time i've had this happen with this exhaust. and i'm the ONLY one to ever have this happen with this exhaust once, let alone three times. I'm gonna email bosal again for a laugh. I love my exhaust, and i'm just gonna have it re-welded again. i'll take pictures once i'm at the exhaust shop so I can send them to bosal. The main reason I keep posting this in this thread, is for record of it happening.

:edit: no one will re-weld it. no one will touch it. i'm screwed. lol.

yes, it blows. and it blows very loudly. Mick is the coolest guy though, and is going to get me a new piece as soon as he gets more federal systems in stock. We emailed back and forth all day, and I sent him pictures and he's awesome with customer service.
