Air intake install question...
I recently added an AEM cold air intake on my MP3. Some of the installs I have been reading talk about resetting the ECU after finishing. My AEM instructions did not mention this... Any thoughts on the validity of doing this- not that it is hard, but I'm just curious.
as far as i know, the only reason for doing this is so that your ECU can "learn" the new intake setup quicker. if you chose not to reset it, it might take a little while for your car to adapt to the new intake.
When I installed my Injen CAI, the check engine light came on and stayed on for about 3 miles. Thats all I believe mine took to adapt, If I would of reset the ECU I doubt the check engine light would of even come on.
