I've done some further research and it says that the AEM short ram intake gaves you at most a gain of 5 HP and the INJEN CAI gives you at most a gain of 8 HP and for some cars a max gain of 15 HP.

You're not gonna see those kind of gains on your car, at least not without other modifications---4hp max with the intake itself, if I recall the dynos correctly.
If anyone out there got 15 from their Injen I wanna hear about it!

im not sure of the difference in sound, im not sure what the INJEN sounds like. to be honest the AEM intake is almost like a cold air intake, its not taking in air from the engine compartment most of the air is commin in from under the car and from the grills in front, hence making it colder air then it would up closer in the engine bay. A lot of my tuner head friends made note of that how it pretty much is a cold air intake.

I HAD A RAM AIR INTAKE, AND I GOT AN INJEN CAI AND IT PULLS A LOT MORE . ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HITS ABOUT 2700 AND 4500 RPMS. IT IS REALLY GOOD IN TOP END (THAT IS WHAT I AM GOING FOR), HOWEVER I DON'T NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE IN A LAUNCH FROM A STOP. I'D GO WITH AN INJEN.

I have an injen and i am very happy with it. The car feels a little more responsive and quicker so if I had to do it agian i would go with the injen.

is the injen cai alot harder to install than the aem? shouldn't the cai get more hp because it's denser air?

I imagine they'll be availbable soon. www.essentialspeed.com have some. However, they're much more expensive.
Mine is ordered and will ship out this week coming up. The dyno was 7whp and 10lb/ft at the wheels....thats a nice bit for just a header and still retaining the stock cats....I'm replacing everything and I'll let you know how it turns out.

Definately go with the Injen. Install is NOT hard. Try:http://www.adventon.com/

They usually have a better price than anyone else. Also, with an AT, don't expect a real street burner. The best bet for you would be to jack up the car and put anew car with manual under it.

Oh, and by the way, Proteges have 1 header, not multiple headers.
