AEM CAI maintance

Hi all, i was thinking of getting the AEM short ram CAI for my protege5.

I was wonder if they are high maintance, or just wash once or twice a year and that's it.

Thanks.

no, if you have a quality cone filter...they are LOW maintenance....of course the number of times you need to clean it is dependant on the conditions in which you drive....if its REALLY dusty...you will need to clean it more often....but otherwise....once or twice a year would be about right......just keep an eye on it....after all .... its right there under your hood.

YES....you oil them.....just pick up a K&N filter cleaning kit and use that....there is a soapy solution in a spray bottle that you spray on the filter....of course this is AFTER you take it off....let it set for a few minutes then wash off the filter....wash it off from the inside out so that the water flow pushes the dirt AWAY from the filter......

then shake it out....and let it dry out....set it in the sun if you can...

after its all dry...spray a light coat of the filter oil on it....reinstall it...and you are ready to go.
