2nd Cat Question

Question.

Would the removal of the second cat equal to a LEV instead of a ULEV. Would I get in trouble if I removed this, engine/sensor or smog laws?

Well, I took the 2nd cat out and voila, 1.726 HP gained.

Actually I don't know how much HP gained or lost, but the car feels much more normal, like a 1.8L.

I did remove the second cat from my car... it did feel a little better (but part of that is probably psychological).

Hey Slikpro, I assume the gain you report is from a dyno result, right?

Sure was dynoed Actually not really!

As long as there is one cat, specially the main cat, everything should be ok. So far no check engine lights.
