Do you have any ideas of wheather or not this motor will fit into the festiva with little dificulty?..Thanks TheMan, Nice to have desent convo. without everyone slamming the **** out of each other..(see protegetech).....Kaleb

If some people would like to get together and make this happen, ill gladly pay for the entire engine. After all, I have a spare 1.6 as of now. (I aint skeered to blow **** up !!!) HA!....Kaleb

I brought this back up from the dead because I am seriously interested in this...
If I was to go FI:
So, TheMan, you said
Is it worth the pain swapping the heads, then turboing it? Will I get a lot more hp than turboing it without the head?
If I was to go NA:
Well I called tripoint engineering today. In one of the older threads, it was mentioned that they made cams for the 1.6l ( This old thread )
Well I called and he said they didn't , but then he enlightened me and said that they can custom make them
So, if I was to get the head, will it be smart to get some cam gears to go along with it? (If this sounds stupid, it because I obviously don't know...)
And of course the standalone that you mentioned to me a while back. This one
Also...lol
You said this..
So 1.6l is really that strong? It sounds strong than the later model F series engine.
So do you believe that my engine can handle 200+hp pretty good (NA or FI)? Maybe 230hp?(am I exagerating now..lol)

Oh and for the brave... swap the heads but leave the cams alone. Then turbo the sucker!
It'll be a major pain in the *** to tune though, be warned (vvt + turbo is hard to work with).

The Z series engines are decendants of the B series engines so the strong block (the block is pretty much the same as the B6) and internal characteristics are still there. What's better in the Z series compared to the B series though is the Z series' heads flow better!
So instead of spending money and time on a swap, the alternative is to build a NA rev monster out of the 1.6. The ZM-DE (1.6l) has a bore/stroke of 78x83.6 which makes for a pretty decent bore ratio. I wouldn't stroke that engine any because of so little room and tight tolerances there is. Do the normal NA upgrades to the bottom end.
