Question need new pads and rotors... what are my options?

my dx has got warped rotors after about 6k miles of me driving it. i don't drive that hard but who knows how the p/o used the car. anyhows, what should i do to get new rotors and pads? go cheap? autozone style? i've heard of people getting cheap rotors and nice pads.

the brakes i got now are NICE. nice bite and good solid stopping power. i want to keep this. but i don't want to spend alot. i drive about once a wk... sometimes i go for wks with out driving. i commute mostly but would like to try autocrossing. i'm getting 14" ers on my dx for that purpose... so good street and decent auto-x setup for a good value (cheap and replace quick does me no good). thanks.

ex-car guy trying to get back onto the swing of things...

well, you can see if you can still jump in on the group buy setup by darryl. its in the "parts for sale" under "group buys" thread. I got the front rotors and pads, and they feel fantastic compared to my last setup.

cool, but slotted rotors seem a lil excessive for a commuter... maybe i can get blanks? thanks for the point though...

If you want good brakes, just get stock rotors, and a set good ceramic brakes. Those pads have less noise, less fade, less dust, and they will make your rotors last longer.
