Question When is what, this or that?

There are 2 questions in this post.

1- What 95ish 2nd Gen pro's have a moonroof, cruise control and ABS?

I ask this because I'm doubting that I have a true ES. I have these things listed below but I don't have a moonroof, cruise control or ABS.
I have
Power Windows
Power Locks
Manual Seat Riser
Remote Trunk release
Tach on the gauge
1.8L DOHC Engine
Courtesy Lights on the Front Doors
Puch button A/C control (except temp & fan)
All around disks

But DOES NOT have
Moon Roof
Cruise Control
ABS

2- Did the ES have a rear deck brake light? My car has the scars of a ripped out or eliminated spoiler but it has the rear deck brake light. Did the 95 Pro's with a factory spoiler have the rear deck brake light?

What you have my friend is a Canadian LX model..

US LX models came with all the power accessories and only a 1.8L

LX touring models came with spoiler and roof but no abs or airbags (wasn't even an option)..

The ES had the power roof, rims and sunroof..

In Canada, 95 was the last year of the ES trim..

I DO have airbags and the trim says ES

What you're saying that the spoiler was an option and it was installed after it was bought. I'm not sure if that would explain why it doesn't have ABS.

And if I'm not mistaken according to the VIN it was a made in the orient and had a 1.6 motor. This is the VIN

JM1BA1426S0172253 MADE ON 03/95

If it isn't an original ES, don't you think it would be a little difficult to add all the things mentioned and a $200+ "factory" digital clock?

Thumbs up

That TOTALLY clears me up. OK
So my car did have a 3 factory brake light
It was NOT asked to have ABS
It possibly had the spoiler added
And it DOES have a factory installed 1.8

I was looking in that FAQ and I probably misread it and I thought that it was supposed to have a 1.5 or 6 but thanx to you I'm totally clear and proud to have an ES. Thanx again

Don't mean to resurrect a dead topic, but I've got a 97 lx Touring Ed. with a 1.8l Cruise, 4 wheel disc, no abs, and no moon roof. Canadian model.
At least this thread cleared it up about my spoiler, and the ill fitting plastic cover on the rear deck where my third brake light used to be.

Third brake light

I do not know if this will help any one, but this is regarding the third brake light. I am not familiar with either Canadian or Puerto Rican laws, but in US, all manufaturers since 1984 HAD to install a third brake light. Though I am not sure if the manufaturer had to install them both inside the car and the spoiler at the same time.

In Puerto Rico all cars manufacture after '84 had to have a third braking light. just like in the states. It could be installed in the rear deck or in the spoiler, as long as it had a third braking light. althought the law wasn't really enforced.

If you have a second gen with a spoiler, check the underside of the spoiler. Chances are, its has 'JSP' engraved in the bottom (at least in the 2-post spoiler it does)
