you might want to be careful what people are telling you to rip off your car. had one bullshitter (friend's boyfriend i slugged last week) sit there for a half an hour and tell me how he was running an abused 2003 dodge neon sxt that only had 1st gear after 12,000 miles were put on the car...telling me, they should just take 2nd through 4th gears out, he didn't need any of them, besides... aparrently, the transmission drove fine all the way up to 80mph... when manufacturers put parts on cars, they are designed for one of two reasons... function or form. a heatshield is designed for function, not to make your car look pretty. i had a heatshield rattle on my rusted to **** flex pipe on my 94lx. i'll tell you this much, after months of rattling, it finally ceased after a nice 150 mile long drive. just one of those daemons that pops out of no where.
peace
