Turn signalsfor 95-96 pro

I am putting this here since it only deals with 95 and 96 proteges. I started working on making clear turn signals today. I picked up some of the Clear light covering used in drop cealings. I think it might be a little brittle but we'll see, if that doesn't work I'll look for a better plastic to use.
What i'm going to do is bake the turn signal and pull off the amber covering. Then i'm going to cut the white covering to shape drill a hole and use silicone to hold it on the turn signal houseing.
If anyone has any tips to offer I'm willing to listen. This is definantly not my area of experties but who knows what could happen. i'll keep you all posted with how things go.

I tried doing this before but I took it a step further. I tried molding the transluscent plastic to the shape of the turn signals because I think if you try to bedn that brittle plastic, its gonna break. Here's the link to the thread I made:

It won't break bending it cause the curve is so small. I cut the piece and sanded it then used silicone to seal it to the houseing. The only problem will be that since its very clear you can see the silicone through the lens up close, from a distance it doesn't look bad, i won't have it finished till monday though its a crap load of work.

Give an update! What's going on? Have you done it? Is it installed? Got any pics?

I found some bulbs for the clear corners on our 95-96's that are 3X the brightness. Since they are the 194 wedge type, and only 5 Watts stock, they can be replaced with an 18 Watt bulb from xtremewhite.com, Part No. UW 912. I haven't bought these yet, but I'm going to change out the headlight bulbs for the PIAA Super Plasma GT H4 and change the coners at the same time. It sucks with this time change driving home from work in the dark!!!
