Squeeling Problem!!! HELP!!!

Every time I start my 97 1.5 DOHC especially in the cold, it squeels like no other. I dont know what it is. It also squeels when it is running. When I gas it, it squeels more sometimes. The problem before was the ac compressor but I got it fixed. What else do people think it is?

Does it go away after a while.
Because mine squeal too since the cold weather but after warming up it goes away but it's so loud and annoying at start.
I press the throttle a few time and goes away.
From warm to cold weather I think straps are titening and they stretch when cold to warm. So between summer and winter you need to reajust I guess.
I already ask my mechanic to tiite them this summer because it was doing it on rainny days but the problem got back at the first cold day.

sorry if english is bad...

Yeah its probably just your drive belts, change them, and/or tighten and it should go away.

It is your belts. Though you might not need the replacement. If you just fixed the AC, then you probably need to adjust them. Take it to a shop that fixed the AC, they should fix it, it could be their fault.

same here

the exact same thing happens with my car, i have the same model, and it happens somtimes when you either, have the a/c on, heat or front defrost, rear defrost, or lights even, but the lights only cause it when its extremly cold. this becomes overly frusterating when you are trying to defrost your car, and you come to a light and you have to stop or your rpms drop to idle, at this point it starts to squeel, and when u hit the gas, it makes things a lot worse, i got my belts tightened and it kinda helped, but the a/c still squeeked. but this was during the summer, so i could not tell if the defrost was a problem.
