PULSE GENERATOR - Can you help?

Hello,

The official diagnosis from the dealer, (IRA Mazda, Danvers MA), is a faulty PULSE GENERATOR. Can anyone tell me where this is located on the car? Is it an easy or more difficult repair? Can I purchase the part from an aftermarket company or is this a dealer only part?

Thanks for any help.

Ben

Never heard of a Pulse generator before.
You've either told us the wrong thing or the deaeler thinks you're a complete idiot.

Maybe you should try searching your own site first. There are registered users here who have diagnosed and repaired faulty pulse generators.

Also, you might want to learn to spell before you call people idiots.

Lastly, expand your mind beyond inline 4-bangers, homemade CAIs, and carbon-fiber wings for a FWD 105 hp car...

Then perhaps you should have searched the site first before asking the question.

If you can find nothing else wrong with my post you had to rag on one spelling mistake?? Jesus christ, you should look in the archives and see some of the idiots that have posted here over the years, and be thankful that there are still people here who are smart enough to put together a coherent sentence, that has only ONE spelling mistake as opposed to people who can't even spell PROTEGE correctly. Seriously, they own the goddam cars they drive them, I would guess on a daily basis and they can't even spell that right. Maybe they're hardcore ricers that think stripped badges and emblems are m4d tyt3 y0 and they've simply forgotten how to spell it?

Last but not least, I was into V-8 RWD muscle long before I got into imports if thats what you were implying I should expand my mind to. I participate in this forum because I am a car enthusiast who enjoys discussing maintenace and modifications of cars, the Ford Mustang happens to be my favorite car and I am a member of more than one Mustang forum. However since I don't own a Mustang, I find my interest on those forums has waned. I own a Protege and therefore my interest is focused on them rather than a car which I don't own.

PS, for my own benefit please point me to a link for these threads regarding pulse generators so that in the future I will be able to refer them to people who have similar questions as you do.

<~~also mustang man prior to enjoying my mazdas. I've worked as a mechanic for almost 4 years and I've never heard of a "pulse generator".

Please do not come onto this forum and start instigating fights with people. MidnightBlue made a typo and you insinuate that he's a stupid ricer. Not a very good way to make friends on a new forum.
