Exclamation Hello from Japan

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum but I've been checking it out for some time now. This site is awesome! I'm really impressed by the amount of info and the expertise you guys all have.

I currently live in Japan and my baby is a 96 Familia NEO, model BHA8S (323C in Europe, 3-door fastback version of the Protege, if you will) with a 1.8l BP-ZE engine. I've done a few mods but it's still pretty tame.

I have a few questions that I'd like to get some insight on, so I'll be posting in the appropriate sections shortly. In the meantime, if you'd like to check out my car I've just recently opened a website for it, in both English and Japanese:
www.jtw.zaq.ne.jp/crowfield/NEO/index.html
Hope you like it!

Oh, and one more thing: Cuz of the time difference, I probably won't be able to post in such a timely manner, I hope you don't mind...
Talk more soon!

Kanitchua, Neo. Genky Des Ka? Welcome to our little corner here. I really like your car, and I hope that most of your questions will be answered here. I also like your website. If you build it yourself, which software did you use? Thanks.

Thanks, turbonium, for the kind words. Your Japanese is pretty good, too. I'll be looking forward to sharing insight with all of you 2nd gen owners.

But...so I JUST registered here like yesterday, and then I find out that everyone's moved on to clubprotege. So does that mean I should just re-register there instead, and ignore this forum from now on?

Well, anyway I guess I'll be posting the same intro message there...

BTW, I built that website using Adobe GoLive. Pretty useful, that software. I use a Mac BTW.

Ok, I will try my best to explain what happened with out taking sides. This forum at one point time went down for reason explained later. At first no one knew, because the moderators on this board did not have much control of this Forum. So some decided to leave to begin their own. I am a member to both, because the people that started Club Protege know a lot about earlier Proteges/Mazdas, so there is much of experience there. But there is much experience here also, and just like many others, people have memberships in both places. So its up to you, really.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up, turbnonium. I understand, sorta. Sounds like a bit of politics got mixed up in there, too.

So I guess in order to get as much info as possible I should be a member to both. Do you guys basically post the same message on both forums?

GreatOne, thanks for the comments. Your ride is sweet, too. White-on-white is nice. Yeah my car is a very, very rare model. It was a 3-door version of the BH sedan, but Mazda went so far as to give it a different front end. That's prob why you don't recognize it. Only been on the market for 2 yrs, after which they changed it to a more orthodox shape with a front fascia that you would now recognize as the 2nd Gen post-minor change Prot.

Is that 323?

Hey Neo,
That looks like the 323 that we had here in Canada for a couple years, for some reason it never took off too well. But u still see a few around? Yours looks pretty nice though. I will see if i can find some pictures of the 323, looks the same. Pretty rare..

I can't find any good pictures...
actually after looking at it better nevermind.. Yours looks quite different.
I am trying to find a good picture of the 323 they used to have.

Hi Murcielago
I took a look at the link you gave, and that's a 323F Lantis, which is sorta like a 4-door version of mine (I didn't know they had Lantises up there either). Yes, mine's a 323 too, but I believe they called it a '323 Neo' up North. Yeah, it's pretty rare (like you said, it never took off), even rarer still for a modified one. Hardly any parts for it, you know.

yeah, i hear ya

Well, i will keep my eyes open for one.
Yours looks pretty sweet, it's nice to have a car that isn't common.
It's pretty tough for the parts, but i don't know if the FORD LASER is the same around that year too. Maybe you can get some parts from that car. Good luck with your hunt though, and keep up the good work.
