intake tube?

if you look under the airbox, youll see a tube running from the bottom of the airbox to behind the front left wheel for drawing in cooler air. if you remove the airbox and the tube, and reinstall the airbox without the tube, there is less distance for the engine sound to travel, resulting in a mellower, lower tone from the engine. i havent noticed any hp gains at all, but the sound is worth the 10 mins of work and $0.

What's up people. I have a 98 DX also, and I'm realizing that I have alot of work to do to make this thing even remotely close to being called fast. I already squeeze just about every horse I can out of it! I'm talking to a friend right now who's got an Eclipse (he's hooking it up slowly after he wrecked his *gasp dare I say it* Accord), and he's gonna guide me thru this process. But I'm glad there's peeps out there who are going thru the same thing I am. And, living in San Diego (Mira Mesa no less ) I see Hondas & Acuras all the damn time. Time for change people.

Gonna try to change the intake this weekend, probably K&N unless someone has any other suggestions. Anything productive you can tell me I'll appreciate.
