Check Engine Light On

Exclamation Check Engine Light On
Hi there! I own a Mazda Protege '98, 1.5. Recently I've got a problem, the CHECK ENGINE Light is on. I went to the service, they have cleared the IDLE Control & re-set the codes several times, changed the Thermo Gasket, but but the orange light comes up after a few hours.

Is it dangerous to drive with this light on? Changing the whole IDLE Control would cost me about $700 CAD, way too much!
