Air Intakes?

Hello All,
I was wondering if we could possibly get all the GEN 2's to list thier AIR INTAKES. I have been reading and found that there is the RACTIVE for the 96 that fits. Also the COLD AIR INTAKE from Essential Speed. (300) and some guy did a Acura Intake and modified it a little bit..

If there is allready a thread like this i couldn't find it. But all i want is intake info. Or ideas, i know the RACTIVE is supposed to be decent i know it's affordable, by why is it made for the 96 and not the 98? What's up with that? Is there a big difference between the engine setup..

Intake

I'm just using a K&N flat filter, as the MAF sensor would appear to be the most restictive part of the intake tract, and an RX-7 maf is hard to find and financially out of reach right now.

I'd like to know also. I want to do something for my wife's protege lx, it's a 1.5 also. I always see intakes for the 1.8 only.

Where did you see this ractive intake at? I have no clue where to shop online for this car.

Just choose your car and under air intakes, it'll have hte short ram intake which is the ractive intake.. I got that... and if u want the MOST power... well the fliter that comes with the ractive intake is crap so order a heat shield filter from them.

Hey,
I got a Mazda Protage 96'
I just put an air intake in my car, cuz my friend his job is modifying cars. He orders stuff from California. And then he put an new one for me. Damn...........the sound is so awesome.

That custom intake looks pretty nice.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I WANT!!

What did u use for parts??
Looks like it fits in pretty well, not pinching hoses or anything?
How much did it cost u? Parts-wise?
What was involved?
What kind of filter did u use at the bottom??
Did u cut into your bumper like others have for max intake?

pls excuse the 100 questions..

i'm just jealous..
I used to work in the exhaust shop, so thats what I used for piping - 2". I bend the top pipe to about 110-120 degrees, the second pipe that goes down is at almost 90 degrees. Couplings are from Home Depot, the filter is a universal K&N alike. As for the bumper, I did remove the stock piping and air box. I did not have to take the whole bumper off, but its recommended. This way you can see better what you are removing, because there are some plastic screws and some snapin parts. Someday, I will take it apart and show you guys.

They have them for the 15. and 1.8 in both automatic and 5 spd...
Its avaialable in many finishes (for extra $) like chrome, powder-coating and ceramic coating.

My car is currently in storage there right now for the winter so they can do some R&D on it. Hes looking to do a turbo kit as well as a NA header...email kevin and let him knwo what you want and he will get on it right away!
