Cool 97 protege dashboard lights

hello's from Mexico. Tijuana!

Hey guys i just got a 97 protege, excelent condition, I want to fix it up, not to race it "tijuana streets suck!" you will lose the suspension in the first mile. hehe.

But well im wondering if there are like performance dashboards, or stickers so I can chance the lights and the whole dashboard if necesary.
any one can tell me where can i get them, or what are they called.!

If you have any suggestions tell me about them, what can i do to make the car look a little better, maybe a little sporty.

Sorry Im really new at this.

Later.
Tj Ritchie.

You're in the same boat as me with having a instrument cluster/guages w/o a tach. If you've got a junkyard around your area go pull a cluster from a wrecked 95/96.

As I'm told all 2nd gen clusters are plug n go. You'll have to swap you odo (odometer) with the one you get from the yard.

There's some info on that at clubprotege.com too.

Cool Hey thank Logans

thanks man, my car is almost exactly like yours
it's a 97 DX, in any case I saw your car and it looks great!

Actually my car looks alot like yours when you started I hope I can make it look like yours. maytbe lower the springs, but like i said Tj roads are not that good.

well can u give me some advise in what should be the first thing i should start fixing.?
My car is Blue.

Im going to paint it eventually the paint is kind'a run down from the sun, Im thinking of painting it black or blue.
What kind of rims u recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Ritchie.

Thanx 4 the compliment on my car.

Hmm ... It'd probably help if you let us know what type of approach you want to take in hooking up your ride.

Are you looking at changing your interior, engine work, sound system, suspension, exterior body work?

When I started changing my car I had to start small so I just worked on the interior then exterior, but I'm working my way into getting an engine swap (BP) and manual transmission.

It seems you were set on changing the guages in the intrument cluster from a 95 or 96. If you want I can try and pull one from the junkyard if I see it. I got mine at one junkyard for ~$25. Send me a PM or something if you want one.

As far as the rims goes our cars are already slow so unless you want the performance to be worse don't get 17's that are really heavy. Lightweight 15's can look just as good. I was looking at Konig Heliums on 1010tires.com. I got a set of mazda miata rims so I'm gonna hold off until I do some other stuff to the car.

And with paint don't really have a preference. Black would look kinda cool w/ some silver and / or chrome. Just make sure when you repaint it you see some of the work the shop has done to check their quality.

Oh yeah and don't forget to check out the FAQ the Edwin Mann wrote. Clubprotege.com has it in their FAQ section.

Who are you talking to or about? You've gotta be a little bit more specific.

Do you have a car website up or any info on your car? I'm curious to see how your car is.

You also drive a mazda. Why are you trying to rip on fellow mazda owners? Seems a little weird to me. Did you have a bad experience or something?

Yeah, i've been looking for a gauge for my car too. But i can never find one. At least one that's affordable. Also i don't wanna mess up the mileage of the car, Since it's got an extended warranty.
But what would be nice is an A-Pillar guage, but like yourself and your guage hunt, they all seem to be for Civic's and integras. Also i am not a big fan of that huge fast n furious style one with the big LIght flashin in your face.

And dude if i wa closer, i'd be in on that trip to tijuana, but it's a bit much for a drive..

Check out ebay and look out for procarparts.com or just go to there website. search for gauges 95 96 97 or 98

That's where I got my gauges from.
