I was just wondering if yall could help me out.
I just purchased a 96' Protege LX and I want to
make it faster. Could yall gimme some ideas on
going about doing this? As you can see, I am not a
car expert. That is why I am here. If enyone knows
enything please let me know.

First off, you need to let us know what engine you have, either the 1.8L, or the crappy *** 1.5L.... And before you start doing anything to your car you wanna take it to a "Garage" and get a good tune up.......

I have the 1.5L and there isin't much unless you get everything custom done, the only HP increasing aftermarket parts I know of for the 1.5 are intakes, and exhaust.....

If it's a 1.8L some1 else can help you there, but there's a whole lotta stuff for that engine, even a turbo kit..

 

It's a 1.5. Yeah, it is kinda slow.

Can't you swap a 1.8L in the 1.5? then do the turbo kits and stuff? is that possible?

 

a 50 shot won't damage the engine at all? what kinda boost are you looking at? would it work in an automatic car?
