Unhappy Help...i need help with my shifter....!

Hey everyone. I don't know who could possible help me with this question but i am a 1997 protege owner with a problem with my shifter; it is really loose. When i am in first gear i can move the shifter like into 3rd and like when it's in 5th gear it moves over into 3rd. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Someone told me it could be the bushing in the shifter...what can i do and how expensive is it going to be to replace it to get a nice tight shifter again???

wow... nice help

anyway... you might want to check the shifter bushings where the shifter attaches to the rod under the car
