I am not sure if they are the ones that go in the engine bay and you ground them all throughout the bay , but heck yeah they work sweet. ...
in the 1st gen engine section
Wil did a install on this in his Protege..
definetly a mod to look into

have yet to do this myself, but if you go to *EDIT: FUNK THAT ***** and search wil's site there is a listing for this kit. basically, he did everything himself and didn't bother purchasing a kit, but i would still imagine is valid for all gen protege's. basically, it just jumps up the ground guage for your entire car, making a better contact, and wil swears upon better throttle response, etc...etc...etc... don't know that you're adding horsepower, but if you're looking to run a sound system with heavy wattage in your car, or are just looking for everything to be the best that it can be on your car... this is definately the upgrade for you. good luck.
